This weekend marked the annual French Quarter Fest. In a city of festivals (literally, there seems to be at least one festival every weekend), it's hard to stand out -- but French Quarter Fest always seems to top itself every year.

The French Quarter Fest has been around for over 30 years, and sets itself apart by being the largest free festival in the city. Spanning over 4 days, the FQF features local musicians, food, and art.

This might be a contraversial statement, but for my money, there is no better festival than FQF. And yes, I am including Jazz Fest in this assessment. With great music, and fantastic food, all mixed amongst the beautiful backdrop of the historic French Quarter, . It's a quick streetcar ride from the St. Charles Guest House, and is a must-see for any traveler looking to explore New Orleans food and music.
